Eye Makeup Tip

Eye Makeup Tip - How to apply eye make up

Eye makeup work as magic. It can make your eye look large or small and can even alter wide set eyes and give you the much needed all over.

Eye Shadow - Blend a deep shade of eye shadow to give the impression of depth. Highlight the brow bone with a lighter shade to give a wide eyed look. Deep sooty tones work well to provide definition whereas pale shades go a long way in emphasizing.

Eye Liner - Keep the liner light and even. You can use a cotton bud to smudge a little liner and achieve an exotic look. The liner can be applied with a lighter line on the inner eye and thickening as it goes outward to offset the effect of close-set eyes. The right application of eye liner makeup can create the effect of more expressive eyes.

Eyelashes - You can resort to fake eyelashes to add to the effect. You must apply the fake eyelashes with care. The eyelashes must be dipped in glue and placed as close to the baseline of your own eyelashes and allowed to set. Then you can skillfully use dark eyeliner and mascara to blend them.

Eye Make up Remover - Always remove eye makeup thoroughly before going to bed. This will keep lashes healthier and prevent any mascara from getting into your eyes during the night. There are many readymade eye make up removers available in the market for this purpose. They come in several forms ranging from eye lotions to eye pads. While removing the mascara, avoid the color from going onto the delicate area below the bottom lashes. Roll a cotton bud dipped in a cosmetic cleanser over the lashes, taking the mascara down onto the tissue. Repeat till all the mascara is gone. Warm olive oil serves the purpose of removing the eye make up as well as conditioning the lashes.

Eye make up tips

  • For the soft smoky look, smudge the edge of the line with the smear end of the eyeliner pencil.
  • Those with small eyes must remember this eye make up tip - Don't apply eye liner to the inner rims of the eye. Keep it to the top and below the lash line.
  • Use slate, blue, grey and plum eye shadows for brown eyes, pink, salmon, mauve and brownish pink for green eyes and brown, camel and taupe shades for blue eyes.
  • An important eye makeup tip is to apply eye make up in a well-lit area. Light colored eye shadow is best for a professional look. Different colors can be blended and used for the evening out.
  • Eyeliner and mascara should be applied after the eye shadow has been correctly applied. Two thin applications of mascara work well.
  • Well-trimmed eyebrows go a long way in giving a neat and clear area for your eye make up application.
  • Curling lashes open up your eyes. Do so by squeezing them with a lash curler from lash line to three fourth way toward tips.
  • Stick to dark colored mascaras such as navy blue or plum for they look more natural.
  • Apply two coats of mascara, sweeping the wand from roots to ends. Wiggle the wand a little as you move upwards to detach the lashes and make them stand out.
